I am having a problem connecting to systems with my Avatex 2400 MODEM.
In particular, if I call a system which I KNOW to be communicating at 2400
bps (or any baud rate, actually), I can hear the remote system send its
carrier tone, but for some reason my system refuses to send its carrier. This
has been happening more and more frequently of late. What I find curious is
that if I call the system manually from a phone, wait for the carrier, then
enter ATO, my MODEM ALWAYS connects. Can anyone give any insight as to what
the problem might be? Please respond via E-Mail as I do not normally read
