We have an office that dials out from a Xenix box to 16 PC's, with Hayes 2400 V-Series on both ends, and it works just fine. When I take one of those V-series, and use is to dial up sites that have 2400 baud modems ( some hayes, but none of them V-Series ) i get unreliable connections ie half the time the modem returns no carrier and drops the line, even though I can hear the answering modem tones. Has anyone else had problems dialing from a V-Series to another brand/designation of modem? Is there a fix?
