I recently got a 16550 chip for my standard serial card as a replacement for the ancient 8250, as a first step for going to a USRobotics HST/DS modem. Everything seemed to work fine, except after Waffle file transfers with DSZ the character output gets messed up, as if some critter had decided I wanted 7-bit mode. It is however NOT valid 7-bit data either. There simply are too many parameters here... Waffle, BNU, DSZ, 16550... whodunit ? I've switched back to the 8250 and everything is OK again, but I'd like to get this to work. I can't believe no-one has run against this before ?
