How does one get faster TB PEP throughput speeds on overseas calls? I am trying to send email to a freind in India. Although we are both using TB+'s, we can hardly get any data down the channel. Note: received data 2539 bytes 10 secs received data 64 bytes 9 secs sent data 4667 bytes 2 secs sent data 73728 bytes 165 secs received data 368 bytes 3 secs received data 61 bytes 3 secs received data 3243 bytes 9 secs received data 62 bytes 3 secs I suspect the problem may be delay times. Are there any "hidden" registers in the tb+ that will allow me to get a bit better throughput? I have heard that trailblazers unwrap the uucp packet, transmit it in tb-speak and then re-wrap the uucp packet at the other end. Perhaps there is a way to increase the packet size the the tb's send to each other? Note: my x-fer speeds for local calls routinely get 14.4 kbs. What sort of x-fer rates are other folks seeing for overseas calls? -wolfgang -- Wolfgang Rupprecht uunet!wsrcc!wolfgang (or) wsrcc!wolfgang@uunet.uu.net Snail Mail Address: Box 6524, Alexandria, VA 22306-0524

There are hidden registers in the TELEBIT PEP modems which have now been documented by TELEBIT. Call TELEBIT and ask for the TELEBIT PEP MODEM CONSIDERATIONS FOR ADVERSE COMMUNICATIONS LINKS document. If you have difficulty getting this from TELEBIT, e-mail me your address and I'll send it to you in U.S. mail ( I don't have this on-line yet...).
