Has anyone heard the details on the Practical Peripherals V.32 modem?
Apparently it is supposed to list price at $699. The modem will support V.32,
V.42bis, and MNP level 5 error correction protocols. Street price is
estimated to fall around $489. Pretty attractive price point!

The new Intel 9600ex supports V.32 (plus the usual slower stuff), V.42 and
V.42bis, MNP, and all the tricks. What's more, at high compression/speed it
actually goes faster than anything else I have ever tested (which is a lot).
Price to public site operators is $399.
