[comp.dcom.modems] HST for sale

root@nstar.UUCP (Larry Snyder) (04/09/90)

This is being posted for a friend:

US Robotics Dual Standard V.32/HST 14.4 kbaud high speed modem

Modem is 6 months NEW, and is in EXCELLENT condition

Price - $700

reason for selling - upgrading to a Telebit Trailblazer

call 219-277-7561 evenings and weekends (ask for Marlin),
or call 219-232-3900 weekdays (again ask for Marlin).

UUCP mail should be routed to nstar!thelink!marlin, fidonet mail (much
slower and takes several days) should be addressed to SYSOP at 1:227/100.
Voice call is best, UUCP mail second best, and Fidonet mail is the last
(and slowest) option.

You better hurry - I sold my HST for the full asking price within 12 hours
after posting via the internet - and shipped it the same day. In the
following days I received voice calls from Califoria, Europe and Canada -
along with 10 or so pieces of email. The internet moves traffic around
the world - within minutes.

USR Courier HST 14.4 modem 9 months old with the latest
firmware prior to the release of v.42bis. This modem
is in excellent shape and will produce transfers as high
as 1700 cps sending archived files, and 2510 cps sending
text (these speeds were actual thoughputs with hardware
flow control and the DTE speed locked at 38,400).

We are replacing this modem with a pair of V.32 modems
in order to support SLIP connects into nstar.

Price - $400

for information - call 219-232-4200 - before 10 PM EST or
send mail to me (address below).
