[comp.dcom.modems] Buying modems in Boston

gae@computing-maths.cardiff.ac.uk (Geraint A Edwards) (10/25/90)

Hi,

I'm looking for a modem and have heard they're a lot cheaper
in the US (I will be using it here in Wales (Britain)).

Does anyone know of a good dealer in the Boston area?
What can I expect for $500-600?

The modem should have:
	Hayes-compatibility (esp. ATB0, ATB1),
	UK-use approval,
	minimum 2400 full duplex

_Any_ pointers appreciated,

Thanks,

What type of modem do you need? Internal...External...If internal,
can it be Type "A" interface or do you need a standard 8 bit bus interface.

I currently have an internal Fax/Modem with a type "A" interface that I may
need to sell in the very near future. I also have a standard Hayes
Smartmodem 2400, internal, half-height card. I am not certain if these
are UK approved. Off hand, I would guess they are not.

Also, when will you be on Boston?
