Something that has bothered me about the PC Magazine review of V.32 modems was the difficulties in getting Brand X to connect to Brand Y. What good is a standard if equipment from different manufacturers still doesn't work together? Although it appears that PC Magazine didn't really test all possible combinations of the 7 modems being reviewed, there were certainly comments about several combinations that didn't work at all, or worked in only one direction. Is the some knowledgeable person out there who can provide some information as to what is going on? Or, is the V.32 standard really just a myth and what we really have is still a collection of proprietary implementations? -- William H. Glass Internet: glass@mgi.com Management Graphics, Inc.
