A friend who owns a Commodore 64 would like to use it for communications. Can anyone help me find/suggest: 1. A 1200/2400 baud Hayes compatible modem that will easily connect to this machine. 2. Some communications software for this modem. Thanks in advance. Kapil. e-mail: kapil@zaphod.uchicago.edu

Sorry about use of bandwith, but we have no Reply function here... Aprotek makes an inexpensive 2400 baud modem (about $80) that connects directly to the C64 User Port (plugs in). Not good to run a BBS with but great for telecommunications. They also have a 1200 for about $60. Tenex carries them and you can buy them from Aprotek directly (somewhere in Oregon). Ask for Minimodem-C 1200 or 2400. Best C64 program IMHO is Novaterm 9.1 (do NOT get an earlier version as they are buggy). It has ANSI/ASCII/C= GFX capabilities...
