is the T2500 capable of Trellis encoding? I have looked through my manual and have seen no reference to it except in the glossary. besides the fact that trellis encoding would reduce your throughput if noise is encounterd on the phone line, wouldn't it help preserve a connection on what would otherwise be too noisy for a 9.6K v.32 connection by dropping the speed???? Jeff sig?!?!?! you want a stinkin' sig???? uucp: jeff@wisdom.uucp /* ...!rutgers!wisdom!jeff */ arpa: ross@fdurt1.fdu.edu MaBell: 201-299-1819

The Telebit T2500, T1500, and T1600 modems have V.32 at 4800 and 9600 bps with Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM). This is listed in the product spec sheets given out by Telebit and its distributors under Telephone Line Interface. TCM does help with the modems ability to re-train and fallback (4800 bps) under adverse phone line conditions. =============================================================================== Cerafin E.
