Thanks to all who sent mail in response to my plea for help getting the PPI 9600 to work with SCO UNIX cu and uucp. Most of the help was quite valuable. However after several days of effort I gave up on the PPI 9600SA, the only modem that it would reliably connect to was another PPI (take this with a grain of salt since I am novice when it comes to modems and communications). I waited for the v1.18 EPROM to arrive but it is still a no-show. My solution was to spend a few more dollars and purchase a DSI 9624LE, a 9600bps V.32 modem which has worked wonderfully straight out of the box. I have been able to connect to Telebit T-1000+ (2400bps), T-2500 (9600bps) and Hayes V-series (V.32 at 9600bps). Again, thanks to the net for all the help Ian Searle (uw-beaver!sumax!polari!ian)
