I've got a T2500 in my lab. Since upgrading it to Version GE7.00-T2500SA firmware, I've received reports from three sites that call me on that modem using a Motorola Universal Data Systems V.32 modem that they can no longer get connected. Here is a AT&N listing for my modem. Is anyone aware of what I or my callers need to do to get things working again? (Remember that I don't want to give up V.42, V.42bis, MNP, or PEP modes.) ---------- E1 F1 M0 Q6 T V1 W0 X3 Y0 &P0 &T4 Version GE7.00-T2500SA S00=001 S01=000 S02=043 S03=013 S04=010 S05=008 S06=002 S07:060 S08=002 S09=006 S10=007 S11=070 S12=050 S18=000 S25=005 S26=000 S38=000 S41=000 S45=000 S47=004 S48=000 S49=000 S50=000 S51:254 S52:002 S54:003 S55=000 S56=017 S57=019 S58:002 S59=000 S61=150 S62=003 S63=001 S64=000 S65=000 S66=000 S67=000 S68=255 S69=000 S90=000 S91=000 S92=000 S93=008 S94=001 S95:002 S96=001 S97:001 S98=003 S100=000 S101=000 S102=000 S104=000 S105=001 S106:001 S107=020 S110=255 S111=255 S112=001 S121=000 S130=002 S131:001 S150=000 S151=004 S152=001 S153=001 S154=000 S155=000 S157=000 S158=000 S160=010 S161=020 S162=002 S163=003 S164=007 S169=000 S255=000 ---------- -- Ron Heiby, heiby@chg.mcd.mot.com Moderator: comp.newprod "Give me voice mail or give me drugs!"/"Mandatory Drug Testing? It could be that those lovely UDS modems think your T2500 is a fax or something. -- -Brian Smithson Motorola Inc., Computer Group, Commercial Systems Division 10700 N. The S95=2, S96=1, S97=1, S98=3, S106=1 settings might be confusing your UDS V.32 modems. If these other V.32 modems are not specifying MNP/V.42 error correction or data compression ONLY, then they may not connect to your T2500. The incoming UDS V.32 modems should be set to FORCE MNP 4/5, if MNP is desired OR V.42/V.42bis if it is desired; BUT NOT BOTH! If the UDS V.32 modems are being confused due to their lack of V.42/V.42bis or MNP 4/5, then your only remedy might be to turn these features OFF in your modem. This would be a real bummer for a host modem. Good Luck! =============================================================================== Cerafin E. Based on a single other system trying to reach mine, with a newer UDS V.32/V.42 modem, Brian's suggestion on making the PEP tones last in the sequence seems to do the trick!
