I have just purchased a Super 5 2400 bps modem and I am having great
difficulty making it work. After setting the modem to factory defaults.
AT&F

The only way I can make it dial is by setting ATX1 the default is
ATX4 but in this state the modem will not dial at all.

With ATX1 I can dial OK but fail to make a connection.

I feel there is something I am missing here

I may be able to shed some light on this, i have a V32 9600 super5 modem and
if the commands are the same you will need to change a couple of things from
defaults. Sorry i cant find the book so i'm working from memory.

1. the modem defaults to "BELL" you'll need to change it to "CCITT"
2. the modem defaults to "RJ11" or 10 or similar, you'll need to go to "RJ12"
, i think thats right.
It's a start anyway, Good luck
