Response to Multitech modems. I have a 2400 EC internal Multitech. It preformed great in a Zenith 386. For political reasons I had to pull it and put in a Zenith 286. I've had trouble ever since. It seems (according to tech support) that it is conflicting with my mouse (serial) port. Something about sharing IRQ's. They now have me set up as modem in com 4, mouse com 2, Network com 1. But the dip switches are set to com 3. I'm still not sure it's working properly. The orginal symptoms were that I would get a carrier, but the modem would not go into terminal mode. It would just sit there until the carrier timed out. Now it seems to kick back to 300 bps when it answers. Any body have any suggestions?
