I have recently updated the ROMs in my Trailblazer + modems to version 5.01. Before the upgrade I had solid uucp communications using spoofing and a host of other problems, now the other problems have disappeared but my connections are very fragile. Somewhere around the 100k mark the synchronization seems lost which results in the following messages: root uunet (2/8-10:22-10015) BAD READ (expected 'R' got FAIL (2)) root uunet (2/8-10:22-10015) FAILED (conversation complete) Under debug level 9, it appears that uucico at this site sends the approriate command and then something happens so that the reply form the remote site is never received and we get alarms until things timeout. The machine controlling the TBs is an ISI V24 running BSD 4.3. Can anyone offer some insight into the problem? Please e-mail me and I'll summarize to the newsgroup. ger -- G.
