[comp.dcom.modems] upgrade to v.32bis

cmr45797@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Charles Mark Remes) (02/12/91)

I have a 1 year old USRobotics DS HST with v.42/v.42bis and whatnot.

I'm curious as to how much USR is charging for the v.32bis upgrade.
I've heard that v.32bis takes so much processor time that the whole
board in the modem must be swapped, hence a new modem. Can someone
tell me exactly what the upgrade entails? Thanks

A replacement on an exchange basis is $595
