Considering that I had recently flamed Telebit for wanting to charge me an exorbitant rate to fix my modified T18PC, I felt it was incumbent to follow up. Briefly, their service manager first agreed to reduce the price of the service to $195 (a lot, but more or less acceptable). This week, they called me back to say that they had never been able to make my board fail there. Even though they did do some work on the board anyway (replacing a socket I had installed and a couply of small discrete components), they decided not to charge me at all! Anyway, the board now works in my system again, and I didn't pay anything but the cost of getting the board to Telebit.
