Hmmmm, I thought my USR was resetting OK on the DTR drop; only that
everything that needed to be reset wasn't happening. But I could well
be wrong; have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.

That's a different problem; from what you say it doesn't address
the problem of how to re-init the modem.

Yes, I know, but that doesn't help the speed between the answering
modem and the calling modem.
