I'll be buying a 2400-baud modem soon, and I'd like to get one that I can use in both Germany and the U.S.A. Is there anything I should look for to make a modem usable in Germany? I read some time ago that I should find a modem that does not release any current into the telephone line--I can't remember why exactly, but I think it has something to do with Bundespost requirements. Can anyone tell me whether this is important and, if so, how to find a modem that works this way? Many thanks!
