We are looking to upgrade a number of modems, and the modem we use for our UUCP/Usenet machine. I am familiar with the old 2400 baud modems, but there are new beasties out there. What are v.32, v.42, v32/42bis, etc.? Does each type have distinct advantages/disadvantages? What is pricing like for the faster modems? Any info is appreciated.
