[comp.dcom.modems] Practical Peripherals PM-2400

rcocl@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au (Chong Lee) (05/13/91)

I had a Practical Peripherals PM-2400 in my machine that would
pulse dialed alright immediately after I booted up the machine.
If I use the machine for a while for other work before kicking
up a comms package, it would not dialed. I can hear the faint
clicking of the relay. Earthing the relay would sometimes fixed
the problem. Leaving the machine alone (powered off) overnight
seems to cure it too. Frustrating if you need to call up several
places in a session.

The relay in question is a 4-pin SANDEX type.

Anybody had similar faults in their modems before ?.
