[comp.dcom.modems] T2500 <--> T1600 in V32. How?

oli@odbffm.incom.de (Oliver Boehmer) (05/11/91)

Hi!
I'm trying to establish a transatlantic connection with a Trailblazer T1600
in V32 mode with error correction (V42 or MNP)
Up until now, all we've been able to get was a CONNECT 2400, nothing else.
Could someone please mail me his register-settings and/or correct ours.
Help would be appreciated, tx, oli

Settings T1600

Same as factory setting &F3, changes as follows:
S111=0	S104=3	S180=2	S7=100	S181=2	S50=6

And the T2500:
(only the ones different from factory default)

S50=6	S90=1	S95=2	S97=1	S106=1

What else do we have to do?
Hope, somebody can help me....

Which modem is answering and which is originating?

The answering modem may need to lengthen its AC tone length. In the T2500
this is controlled by the S93 register. I don't have the T1600 manual with
me at the moment, so I don't know if there's a comparable register.

If the modem in Frankfurt is answering the call, your friend in the USA
could call Telebit support and have them try to make a connection...
