My company is about to setup a modem pool using a 386-33 SCO-XENIX system as a communications server. This machine is connected with a 486-33 SCO-UNIX system using Ethernet and TCP-IP software. I have attempted to connect to remote systems using a PC running TELIX and CROSSTALK connected to the 486 using CU. This works fine. I can receive (download) data and programs from these remote machines, but I cannot send (upload) any files in this manner. I am also looking into using BLAST! as a comm-program on the 486 to help eliminate this problem. Also, when receiving files I seem to approach 1000 cps but have never surpassed it. How can I use the modem USR Dual Standard and Telebit T1600 at it's fastest speed and still share modems with others? We have 6 people who fight for 3 modem lines currently, the modem pool will allow us to more effectively manage our phone lines and modems without stepping on each other's communications. Douglas A.
