Hi..I have several questions concerning two Hayes 1200 modems I have
been given.
Even though they are both smartmodem 1200's they internally seem completly
different. Can someone send me the DIP switch settings from their manual
(one has 8 DIP switches, the other 10)
and also..Does the power supply require a 12 volt AC CENTER TAPPED
power supply, or can the power supply be just a plain 12 volt AC.
(the power plug has three terminals)
One modem responds to dial commands and returns the proper strings
with my 2 wire AC power supply, but wont respond to carrier..
(i.e...it wont "pick up")
When I run a local loopback test it doesnt respond properly though...
The other modem dials, but doesnt return any strings to my computer,
and doesnt seem to be picking up the phone line or even sending signals
out to it... I suspect some relay problem...or ???
....Any ideas?
