Help!! I cannot connect my (generic) ComPlus 2442e with a Practical Periph. 9600sa (v.32/v.42bis) at 1200 or 2400 bps!! I am not plugging any special features into it.. But there is this problem, it will connect with the PPSA, then say "CONNECT 2400/V.42" and then it will spew out the same text over and over, like the BBS will prompt me for my username.. garbage will result.. then it will prompt me for my username. An endless loop. When I press a key, it will pause for 1 second and then hang up. DOES ANYONE KNOW of any commands I can enter to maybe be able to connect with this prac periph?? So I can input text?? And not get hung up. This modem is FULLY HAYES COMPATIBLE, and it has a lot of MNP support, up to level 5. So any commands you can throw my way should be implemented on this modem. !! I AM IN DIRE NEED OF ASSISTANCE !! Please answer my post. Lots of smart people who use modems read this :) so I am hoping someone would be able to answer my query. Even if you consider this simple.. It is very hard for me. Please, email me. Even if you thin, "Aahh someone else will email him," do it yourself. do me the favor.. I cannot repay anyone enough for this knowledge, this new modem is driving me nuts! works great but won't connect with a Practical periph...?! Perhaps HE can do something?
