Hope to get more info, but here goes with what I have. Our campus phone system has Multitech v.32 modems with the port speed (rs-232 side) locked at 9600 baud. I can post a status summary (soft switch settings, etc.) if it will help. Problem: Can connect to v.32bis USR modems okay, as either Dial-in or Dial-out modems... but when an attempt is made to connect to another Multitech v.32 modem things don't work right. I've heard that one-way transmission is possible but since I work in a full-duplex (okay... duplex for the modern english nit-pickers out there...) mode, I can't tell that it works at all. I cannot directly inquire of the modems, but the folk that operate the phone switch can plug a PC directly into the modem for trouble-shooting. The 9600 port speed is a limitation of our campus phone system. Also, the modem is protected from direct control by a user. Make sense... right? E-mail or Post...
