I have a Ventel 9600 plus modems attach to a portmaster that is using a Sun Microsystems server /dev files. Two of the modems maintains Carrier Detect on the inintail call-back. The third modem drops carrier during the call-back. This modem works great if I don't use the call-back feature. I have gone to Ventel and we did hook up the modems on there P.C.'s using procomm. The call-back feature works. Here is the switch settings on the failed modem; at\s &A=0 &B=0 &C=1 &D=3 &G=0 &H=0 &L=0 &M=0 &P=0 &R=1 &S=0 &T=4 &X=0 &Y=1 B=1 E=1 F=1 H=0 L=1 M=1 Q=0 V=1 X=0 Y=0 *B=0 *C=0 *D=0 *F=0 *L=0 *M=0 *R=0 *S=0 *T=0 %B=5 %C=1 %F=2 %G=1 %J=0 %L=2 %N=0 %P=0 %T=15 \B=0 \F=10 \N=0 \Q=3 \V=0 #E=0 #R=0 #S=1 \T=000 *A=018,015,001,004 Here is the /etc/gettytab file; # # Fast dialup terminals, 2400/1200/300 rotary (can start either way) # D9600|Fast-Dial-9600:\ :im=\n9600 Baud.
