[comp.dcom.modems] What should I expect for Netblazer/T-1600 throughput?

lin@sixmile.inel.gov (Linn Hower) (06/26/91)

Greetings,

I am considering connecting a small LAN onto an Internet LAN with
NetBlazers and T-1600 modems. What kind of throughput should I expect
through a single phone line with the T1600 modems? Will 2 phone lines
double this, or is there some significant overhead associated with using
2 lines? How about with T2500 modems?

The traffic will be IP traffic associated mainly with SMTP and TELNET,
but will expand to include FTP and X11 applications with medical images.

Does anyone have any experiences that can provide me some insight?
