Hi, Well, we are still having problems with our Z-49 terminals. As I have stated previously we have been having problems when listing long files on the terminal at moderate (9600) baud rates. The behavior is that the terminal will stop scrolling and will begin overprinting the same line for anywhere from several seconds to a minute or more. Sometimes the terminal will break out of this mode and begin scrolling again; othertimes it won't. This behavior has been demonstrated on two different systems here at the University of Washington and has also been confirmed by one other person to date. Again, I would like to hear from others with similar experiences. My purpose in posting this today is to ask the following question of the readers of this newsgroup: Is it reasonable to assume that overrunning the input buffer of a terminal may have side effects other than the loss of some amount of transmitted data? The reason I ask this is that I believe that our system might not be reacting fast enough to the XOFF sent by the terminal. I am wondering if by overrunning the terminal input buffer we might be clobbering some other datum used by the terminal thereby causing it to go into hyperspace.
