[comp.terminals] TeleVideo 925 'feature'

kevinb@crash.UUCP (01/28/87)

It appears that the TeleVideo Model 925 using the revision 'I' firmware has
an extra 'feature' they didn't mention in the manual.
It seems that in addition to the graphics attribute sequence (ESC) G (0-?),
you can also use (ESC) (^P-^_). It seems that the TVI uses that screencode on
the screen itself, also flagging the 8th bit internally, so for those of you
whom want to do a illegal but useable 2 character graphics attribute, give it
a whirl. Note: for those who don't know what I mean by a ^P-^_, use DLE (10H)
through US (1FH). It also explains the (ESC) (ESC) problem, that being invisibleunderline blank....
While on the subject, has anybody taken a stab at different firmware for the
TVI 925 and 950? I've got a bit of firmware that gives you 15 function keys for the TVI 925 instead of the normal 11 + chr ins, chr del, line ins, line del.
Unfortunately, I have no idea where the ROMs came from or what they were for.
Anybody got any ideas? I'm also looking for TVI keyboards, and wonder if the
TVI 925E keyboard is compatible with the regular old 'wedge' style kb that was
original for most 925s and 950s.

					-Kevin

P.S. Please send any good TVI 925 and 950 termcaps you have to me, the ones I
have are somewhat strange. I'm running 4.2BSD on a Symmetrix. Thanks! KjB
