I have been trying to study the architecture of display terminals. Some of the Issues that I want to study are: What factors determine the resolution ( dots/inch ) on the display ? How are characters displayed on the screen ? ( Intelligent vs Dumb terminals) Calculating the position of the cursor, processing any special chars/escape sequences before display, What determines the size of the dot-matrix for each character ? ( How to change it) If I were to assemble a terminal what is required ? A sort of handbook for terminals. I would appreciate if someone could give some sources for the information. Neeraj
