[comp.terminals] WYSE 60 terminal

bdewbank@ihlpg.ATT.COM (Bryan Ewbank) (01/11/88)

This is a followup to a prvious article. I was asking for help with the
WYSE 60 terminal, and its annoying habit of using the alternate character
set interleaved with the "normal ascii" character set....

...As it turns out, the problem was that I has the terminal set for 8 data
bits and 1 stop bit. Changing this to 7 data bits and 2 stop bits seems to
have bypassed the problem admirably. Alternately, using the terminal in its
WY 50+ personality is an acceptable solution also.

One person suggested that changing the parity appeared to have no effect...
...he was correct, because the parity affects *outgoing* data only, and the
problem that he and I were experiencing was with *incoming* data.

Well, good day to all,
