This is a followup to a prvious article. I was asking for help with the WYSE 60 terminal, and its annoying habit of using the alternate character set interleaved with the "normal ascii" character set.... ...As it turns out, the problem was that I has the terminal set for 8 data bits and 1 stop bit. Changing this to 7 data bits and 2 stop bits seems to have bypassed the problem admirably. Alternately, using the terminal in its WY 50+ personality is an acceptable solution also. One person suggested that changing the parity appeared to have no effect... ...he was correct, because the parity affects *outgoing* data only, and the problem that he and I were experiencing was with *incoming* data.
