I am in need of some Fast Color text terminals. ie. can clear the screen instataneously. We are using Visual 241 terminals right now, it takes from 15-20seconds for the screen to clear in the protected mode. This is when you have things on the screen that are not to be erased, but background stuff that you do want erased. It is very slow and not acceptable any more. Does anyone out there know of or have used one that can do this function? And has a good termcap & terminfo entry? I am trying to evaluate a DEC VT241, but the manuals do not indicate that I can use simple color TEXT or different colors on the screen, which is what I am after. To have like a form on the screen in purple with green character for the fields, and red for things that need attention. That is the application the terminals color stuff will do. Help?
