[comp.terminals] termcap entry for AT&T 620 terminal wanted

cademy@sdsu.UUCP (Robert Cademy) (07/15/88)

I am looking for a termcap entry for the AT&T 620 terminals.
These are dmd type terminals, but with a small screen. When
I use tell the computer it's a vt100 things work pretty well,
except that the arrow keys don't work. If anyone has a good
620 termcap entry, could you please e-mail me a copy?

Thanks,

First, are you sure you want a TERMCAP entry and not a TERMINFO?

The TERMINFO is part of the terminal information utilities
package provided with the machine, it may be a selectable or
separately installed. Check to make sure it is installed. If
the package has not been provided with your machine contact the
Account Rep or your local support organization for the latest
att.ti file.

If you REALLY want a TERMCAP file you can attempt to build it
from the terminfo. The infocmp(1M) utility has the capability,
among others, of dumping a terminfo binary file as source in
either terminfo format or termcap format. Since terminfo and
termcap do not have identical features and functionality, infocmp
does its best and warns about any suspicious areas. Read the
infocmp manual page for more details.

I use the line of MTG terminals only on BSD machines. Here is a working
termcap for all of them.
