I'm looking for a color terminal to use in a 327x-emulation
environment. Additionally, I'm looking for the following attributes.
In order of importance:
1) Ability to display various colors independently of other
video attributes. This rules out tubes like the Wyse 350.
2) Keyboard layout compatible with IBM 327x series terminals,
down to the real nasty stuff like PA, PF, etc., keys in
the same locations. I'm not aware of DEC or Tek terminals
that do this.
3) At least 24 lines + status line, or more than 24 lines
(the emulator program can fake the status line with one
of the normal screen lines.)
Not too long ago, I saw a Motorola MT3179 that had both the color
capability and the keyboard layout. The owners said it cost $6000,
so I'm willing to pay that much for something with similar capability.
I'm not getting a Motorola because it appears the division that made
these terminals got sold off...
All suggestions are appreciated.
