[comp.terminals] Cheap terminals from "Electrified Discounters"?

ostroff@oswego.Oswego.EDU (Boyd Ostroff) (12/08/88)

I recently saw an ad in the December BYTE from Electrified Discounters in
Hamden, CT for a Datamedia Elite 30 for "the amazingly low" price of $99 new.

It claims to be Televideo 950 and ADDS Viewpoint compatible. Does anyone
have any experience dealing with either Electrified Discounters and/or
this terminal? How does it work under Ultrix at 9600 baud?

I don't see any Datamedia termcaps here for the Elite 30, just the 3045a,
dt80/1, 3025a, 2500 and 1520. For the Televideo 950 we have va, v5, v6 and v7.
Anybody try these with an Elite 30?

We would like to get another cheap terminal for everyday UNIX things like vi,
rn, mail etc. Is there something better which we can get new for about the
same cost? Thanks in advance for your comments.
