My Wyse 60 just emitted smoke and died. For the second time. The eternal question: Are there any terminals out there that * are cheap * have reasonable intelligence * don't use up a space when changing attributes * have decent keyboards without lots of stupid extra keys that don't do anything useful * have multiple screen pages that can be accessed easily * are free from incredibly stupid "features" useless to someone using a UNIX system * don't emit smoke very often Wyse 60's would be fine, if they weren't so damn wimpy, and if the CPU could keep up with keyboard interrupts while receiving 19.2K data. Wyse 50's with extra memory are almost good enough, but the keyboards have massive bounce problems. I've looked at some Qume terminals, but Qume keyboards suck also. Maybe I'm just too picky; I have used terminals that I've liked, though (Wicat used to make one, but I think somebody in management found out that users liked them, so they changed the keyboard completely). -- Mike McNally Lynx Real-Time Systems uucp: {voder,athsys}!lynx!m5 phone: 408 370 2233 Where equal mind and contest equal, go.
