Hello, I am looking for termcap entries for VT102 and VT131 terminals. For some reason just SET TERM/VT100 doesn't do the job; I still get some differences in the screen behaviour (esp. for the VT102.) Also I would appreciate it if someone would tell me WHICH entries need to be modified for increased padding to get rid of ^Q ^S difficulties. I should say that I am using these in the termcap.dat file for VMS GNU-Emacs version 18.52, and also on Ultrix (our main termcap does not have vt102 and vt131 entries so I will have to put them in my home directory.) jeff

Here's another post of my private termcap file. The termcap entry called "vixie" will work on all smart ANSI terminals (incl VT102/131, HP2392/ansi, Wyse/ansi, Heath/Zenith Z29/49, and some varieties of Macterminal). It has no padding; tell your terminal to send ^S/^Q if it has to, and tell your Emacs to accept some other characters for search and quote operations. # # hp2392a in ANSI mode (paul vixie @ ungermann-bass, 16-april-1986) # also perfect for Wyse ANSI and DEC VT131. # h3|hp2392|hp2392a|2392|2392a|hp|vixie|hp2392a in ansi mode:\ :li#24:co#80:vt#3:sg#0:ug#0:pt:xn:bs:am:mi:ms:\ :cr=^M:nl=^J:bl=^G:ta=^I:\ :cl=\E[H\E[J:cd=\E[J:ce=\E[K:\ :al=\E[L:dl=\E[M:dc=\E[P:im=\E[4h:ei=\E[4l:\ :AL=\E[%dL:DL=\E[%dM:IC=\E[%d@:DC=\E[%dP:\ :cm=\E[%i%d;%dH:ho=\E[H:bt=\E[Z:ch=\E[%i%dG:\ :cs=\E[%i%d;%dr:ml=\E[>2h:mu=\E[>2l:\ :do=^J:le=^H:nd=\E[C:up=\E[A:\ :so=\E[7m:se=\E[m:us=\E[4m:ue=\E[m:\ :is=\E[1;24r\E[24;1H:\ :rs=\E[?2l\E>\E[?1l\E[2l\E[?7h\E[>1l:rf=/usr/lib/tabset/vt100:\ :ku=\EOA:kd=\EOB:kr=\EOC:kl=\EOD:\ :kn#4:k1=\EOP:k2=\EOQ:k3=\EOR:k4=\EOS: -- Paul Vixie Work: vixie@decwrl.dec.com decwrl!vixie +1 415 853 6600 Play: paul@vixie.sf.ca.us vixie!paul +1 415 864 7013
