I am planning a WYSE terminal purchase in the near-future. Since my
primary work is done on a VAX running VAX/VMS V5.1-B, I really need VT-type
terminal emulation. Some form of graphics support would also be nice, but
that point is secondary. I am currently looking at two or three models from
WYSE which purport VT220 terminal compatibility. One thing I would like to
know in general applies to the WYSE VT200-style keyboard; is the key placement
an exact copy of a VT200 Series terminal, with the idiotic (my personal
opinion...no flames, please) placement of the less-than ("<") and greater-than
(">") keys on the left side of the keyboard? If so, can the keys be remapped
for a more "conventional" layout?
The following is a short list of the terminals I would be interested
in. I have listed what I feel are the major capabilities/differences between
them are. Any clarifications/changes to these are welcome. Please mail to
me personally, and I will summarize.
WYSE model 85A - Amber display with DEC VT200 emulation; no
graphics capabilities
WYSE model 99GT - Amber display with DEC VT200 emulation and
Tektronix graphics emulation
WYSE model 150 - I have no idea...any specs are welcome.
Thanks,
Mike
