I'm looking for suggestions in getting a travel terminal. Something portable like a laptop, inexpensive, and ANSI (preferably VT100 compatible). It should have a good keyboard, full screen 80x25 (whether plasma, LCD, etc...) and hopefully builtin-modem (1200 or 2400) ... Any suggestions? Send me information on what you might have or know of ... Tell me where I can get one? How much will cost? And anything pro or con about it ... Thanks .. -Lenny -- Lenny Tropiano ICUS Software Systems [w] +1 (516) 589-7930 lenny@icus.islp.ny.us Telex; 154232428 ICUS [h] +1 (516) 968-8576 {ames, talcott, decuac, hombre, pacbell, sbcs}!icus!lenny attmail!icus!lenny ICUS Software Systems -- PO Box 1; Islip Terrace, NY 11752

I just aquired and started using the TI LT-220 laptop terminal. It has the best 220 emulation I've seen, including Double-High, Double-Wide, blink, etc.etc. Also it has an internal 2400 baud modem & an internal word processor. It weighs in at about 5 lbs, and comes with a nice case and print cradle. The only thing is, it's not cheap! We put out about $1500.00, which, compared to a laptop PC, is very expensive. (I saw one at DEXPO South '88/spring) and have not been disappointed. Cost is about $800, NOT including built-in modem. All of our staff use it whenever they go on a trip. > It should have a good keyboard, full screen 80x25 (whether plasma, LCD, etc...) > and hopefully builtin-modem (1200 or 2400) ... Any suggestions? LT220 has it all. VT100/VT220 emulation, you can "store" up to 4 diferent configurations, and there are a ton of add-ons. (at a price, however..) [i.e., the "printer"] The only other "portable" VT100/220 compatable terminal I've seen is the "college" terminal, [can't remember who makes it], but their keyboard sucked. [usual disclaimer about me not having any interest in TI/etc...] > Thanks .. > -Lenny > Lenny Tropiano ICUS Software Systems [w] +1 (516) 589-7930 -- Kent C.
