[comp.terminals] Need comm. setup info for Soroc terminal

jwl@ernie.Berkeley.EDU (James Wilbur Lewis) (06/06/90)

Someone recently gave me a "Soroc" terminal, and I'm trying to configure
it to dial in to our Unix systems here. Unfortunately, we don't have
the manual for it. I found what appears to be a half/full duplex switch
(the positions are marked "H, F, and B". B? What's that?) on the back,
and found out that setting the "Baud" control to "4" appears to put it
in 1200 baud mode. Unfortunately, I still get garbage when I try to dial
in, so I suspect the parity/data length/stop bits are set up incorrectly.
I can't find any switches on the back to set those parameters, and I can't
figure out how to get to a setup screen.

Our /etc/termcap has entries for two models of Soroc terminals, so if I
can get the comm parameters set up correctly, I'm probably in good shape.
I don't know which model this terminal is -- it has sort of a funky keyboard
layout, with a vertical column of four keys (ummm, break, clear, home, and
something else) on the left, and a numeric keypad to the right.

Anyone know how to set up one of these critters?
