There are still some applications that can use a good Tektronix compatable graphics terminal. The expense of an X-window terminal or PC isn't always necessary. After looking around for a month or so at various products, here's what I found available for those Tektronix plotting needs: Wyse: WY-99GT Nice looking package. Runs $450-$500. The big disadvantage of this terminal is the vertical resolution; it supports only 800x312 in Tektronix mode. Can also do Hercules and IBM CGA with the proper adapters. C-Itoh: CIT328 C-Itoh is out of the terminal making business, but I found some distributors with this model left around. Resolution is good at 1024x384. Costs a bit more than the others: $500 to $550, but then again it has the higher horizontal resolution. The keyboard is white, a disadvantage in my opinion (shows dirt!). GraphOn: GO-225 This terminal evidently has about 1024x400 resolution, but is somewhat pricey ($750-$800?). I'm somewhat unsure about this one because I wrote them and never received a reply; then called them, and never got any of the info they promised to send. You gotta wonder. Falco: Falco has a range of terminals. I ended up getting the 5600 (note: NOT the 5600s!) which offers 560x400 resolution and runs about $400-$450. The only disadvantage was the keyboard layout, which put the Control key in the bottom left corner. Other models are available (5220e, for example) which have VT220 keyboard layouts (ick! The return key is too far over). They have a new "Infinity" series of terminals out, I didn't look at them. All these manufacturers have toll free numbers, use 1-800-555-1212 to find them. And these are just my own opinions , etc. etc.
