It appears my first post of this message failed so here is a resubmission. If this is a duplicate message Ooops... > I just picked up a Microterm 5510 to use on my SYSVR3 (Esix) system. > As I understand it, this terminal is supposed to be a VT-320 compatible. > I've been setting my term environment variable to vt220, lacking a vt3xx > entry in termcap or terminfo. > ... > The terminal is doing some bizarre things - I'll type along just fine, > then go into, say, Emacs, and the terminal characteristics will change > and I'll see garbage. > Bill Heiser There are some configuration issues worth checking. 1) After setting up the terminal, did you save the settings? A hard reset issued by a program may destroy the settings. 2) Did you set the device attributes response to VT220? If the host requests the terminal type and it receives a response that it does not recongize it may go into "dumb" teminal mode. If the previous suggestions do not help, please call Microterm customer support at 1-800-325-9056. Nelson Roberts Microterm My view are not necessarily those of my employer.
