Hello, I am not sure if this is the appropriate group, but it seemed the most relevant. Administrative groups here are having to make a transition from a broadband system to ethernet in order to access an IBM system that supports their functions. Currently most are using PCs and the Crosstalk software to do this. However, as far as I know, Crosstalk doesn't support an ethernet interface and thus they will have to switch over to something like the NCSA tn3270 software for commun- icating with the IBM system (Which they are not thrilled to do). I have been using an AnnexIIe for maintain modems and have been very pleased with it capabilites and ease-of-configuration. However, to the best of my knowledge, and through some experimentation, telnet (on the Annex) won't talk very well with the IBM. So, are there any terminal servers that support communication to IBM systems out there? It seems like this should have been addressed before but so far I have come up dry. Thanks, --Dan Some groups here are undergoing major network changes (essentially from a broadband system to ethernet) and are hoping to minimize the transition as easily as possible. -- Dan FitzPatrick dkf@tcad.ee.ufl.edu VLSI TCAD Group, Department of Electrical Engineering 339 Larsen Hall VOICE: (904)-392-8935
