[comp.terminals] Wyse Wy-50+ vs. VT100 on a Wyse 150 terminal

I've got a project I'm working on using a Wyse 150 terminal. Right now, I
have been using VT100 mode because I need to be able to get a report on the
printer condition and the Wyse 150 manual doesn't list any comperable
report in Wy-50+ mode. However, Wy-50+ would be nicer to use because it
offers more control over the terminal. It's not perfect either, though.

Aside from needing to know about the printer, I also need to be able to
control things like the CAPS LOCK key (i.e., be able to turn it on for
fields that require all caps). However, the VT100 mode doesn't have this
ability. Neither mode seems to have a report to indicate the current
status of CAPS LOCK (so I could restore it after the user leaves a forced
caps field). Wy-50+ mode doesn't seem to have the L1-L4 led control that
VT100 mode has.

The Wyse 150 manual is very skimpy, and doesn't really tell one that much.
So I'm wondering if the things I need are really there, but just not
listed. Does anyone have any experience with these terminals that can give
me some feedback on this?

Thanks,
