Below is a message to the author of the QTERM patches (maybe mail server are not working properly...). There are other questions following the mail msg. To: dg%pallio.uucp@uunet.uu.net Subject: Patches to QTERM... -------- [Bounced message follows...] To: dg%pallio.uucp@cfisun.cfi.com Subject: Patches to QTERM -------- [Hopefully, the mailer won't choke on the address] I am trying to get QTERM to work with my Apple II+ and SoftCard CP/M (MicroSoft) but what I need is the patch for the CCS 7710A Serial Card. Can you help me? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Francis N. Law FGODFREY@SUVM.BITNET"Disclaimers are useless, No.1"!|fgodfrey@rodan.acs.syr.edu -------------------+"We don't know anything..."(ACS)+------------------------- ok some more: 1) What is the proper way to wire an RS232C cable so that it can connect an Apple II+ (with a CCS 7710A card marked "DCE" in slot 1 to a TRS-80 DC-1200 Modem (without the dialer module). There must be a "Terminal Ready" signal generated somewhere for the modem to work. Also is there a book for the CCS 7710A card (can't believe I've been operating this long with out the book...) 2) I need a book that has the codes for the DEC VT-100 terminal so that I can generate (and have my ancient term interpret) through QTERM. 3) I would like to find another book that compares mainframe systems (DEC's VAX/VMS, IBM's MVS and VM/SP CMS, and UNIX, etc) and why those systems are "fighting amongst themselves" and why people gravitate towards one over another. Thanks. REMINDER: SAVE THE Earth AND BANDWIDTH, USE E-mail FOR REPLIES... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Francis N. Well, mebbe not for the 7710A, but not only do I have one for the Microsoft SoftCard CP/M system for the Super Serial Card or whatever card that uses a 6551, but I _WROTE_ the said driver. > ok some more: > > Also is there a book for the CCS 7710A card (can't believe I've been > operating this long with out the book...) Sorry, can't help you there. Besides, I'm no fan of the MC6850 chip. The 6551 is MUCH better; has the DTR line that the 6850 lacks. > 2) I need a book that has the codes for the DEC VT-100 terminal so that > I can generate (and have my ancient term interpret) through QTERM. Why bother? QTERM already emulates the VT-100. All you need is to tell QTERM about the terminal you're implementing it on. And also, generate what? > Thanks. > > REMINDER: SAVE THE Earth AND BANDWIDTH, USE E-mail FOR REPLIES... WHY EMAIL?
