Here is a summary of responses to my inquiry about Unix mail user agents for 16-bit computers. I thank Chris Rusbridge, Craig Jackson, Dave Marquardt, Chris Paris, Klaus Eldridge and Karl Kleinpaste for responding. 1. mailx Unix System V has had the "mailx" program, derived from Berkeley Mail, since V.2. Unfortunately, the System V I'm using, Venix 2.0 for the DEC Pro-380 (a PDP-11 with split I and D address space), doesn't have mailx. I've ordered a Venix update which may provide it. 2. ELM Dave Taylor's ELM works on an IBM PC/AT under Xenix. It doesn't fit on a Pro-380. 3. MH The Rand MH mail handling system works on an IBM PC/AT under Microport System V/AT. I haven't tried it on a Pro-380, but I doubt it would fit. -- Jim Olsen olsen@xn.ll.mit.edu ...!{mit-eddie,seismo,linus,lll-crg}!ll-xn!olsen
