Well, I got lots of answers to my last question saying that you can have multiple L.sys/Systems entries for a machine, and each will be tried until one succeeds. On re-reading several uucp manuals, I did verify that the older ones made no mention of this (as far as I could determine). My BNU (honey/danber) manual actually does mention it; now that I understand what it means, I can recognize that it did tell me. I just didn't understand it when I first read it. Anyhow, since I got such a good response from that question, I'll ask another. I've noticed that when the BNU uucico makes a series of calls, it tries each one twice. Naturally, if one fails the first time, it almost always fails the second time. I've read things in the manual about how you can specify all sorts of limits (time between calls, number of uuxqts at a time, and so on), but I haven't found any mention of this double calling. Is this a configurable parameter? I'd just as well have it not do it, but simply give up and go on to the next task. Anyone out there know if this 2 can be changed? -- John Chambers <{adelie,ima,maynard,mit-eddie}!minya!{jc,root}> (617/484-6393)
