As I understand it, uucp by deafult uses 3 windows for
outstanding packets, but can be set to use up to use
at least 7 (if not more) as long as both uucicos agree.
It seems like this would be of tremendous benefit for
PC Pursuit connections.
My question, then, is how to change the number of windows
for HDB on a UNIX PC.

Well, I don't know about HDB, but I just spent last night hacking
the stripped binary of the stock Unix PC uucico with adb. I did manage
to find the right place to change to increase WINDOWS to 7, if anyone's
interested. I haven't switched to HDB because the original UUCP that
came with my machine works extremely well so I don't want to fix it.
