Suppose three systems (a,b,c) are all running the same version of UUCP--- old System V.1 (single directory spool area). System a is having a simultaneous conversation with system b and c. System b and c both are at the same sequence number, and so will generate the same D.XXXXXXXXXXXX file names to be put in system a's spool area. One file will get stepped on.
